Champion 2000 Household Juicer is a powerful masticating horizontal juice extractor coming in white or black from the Champion website. In other places, you can also pick it up in an almond or silver color. In addition to extracting juice high in nutrients, this juicer is multi-functional. You can make salsa, nut butter, coconut milk, and baby food. Homemade is better than store bought any day of the week! This masticating juicer weighs 26 pounds, and has a one-third horsepower motor, using 540 watts. All of the parts, including the sharp cutting blades, are engineered from stainless steel and high quality polymers. The construction of the model resulted in a highly durable and sturdy juicer.
An important accessory that has been introduced is the greens attachment meant specifically for items such as wheat grass. It comes as a separate attachment that is available for purchase. The improvements made to the starting torque, stainless steel motor shaft, and front/rear end shields allow this electric juicer to operate more smoothly. Most importantly, it lowers the temperature, reducing the chance of overheating during use.
Household vs Commercial Juicer
Champion Household Juicer is quite similar to its sibling, the Champion Commercial Juicer. There’s basically no difference between the two except that the commercial model was made more powerful to withstand heavy usage. This comparison chart says it all.

Champion 2000 Household Juicer Features & Product Details
Is it Easy to Use?
Once you have put it together a few times, the Champion Household Juicer is tremendously easy to assemble. However, one difference with this single-gear juicer is that you have to lubricate the motor shaft with coconut or olive oil. Take caution when placing the cutter onto the motor shaft. The blades are extremely sharp and will cut your hands if you do not take care. The feed chute is a decent size of 1.75 inches in width. The majority of your produce will fit down the tube without much need for cutting it. However, for stringy items like celery and large items like apples, you will need to cut them into slices. Whole stalks of celery will end up wrapping around the cutter becoming stuck in the juicer.
Make sure to cut all of your produce ahead of time. Because this cold press juicer is not self-feeding, you must juice continuously until finished. Use the provided tamper to push the produce down the auger. It is never a good idea to use your fingers to push the produce down the tube. Since it is extremely heavy and bulky, ensure that you have a place to keep it on the counter, as it does not come with a handle, which can be a disadvantage for some people who might have problems moving it around frequently.
Is it Easy to Clean?
Once you have finished juicing your produce, clean it right away. This juicer is very easy to clean however it’s not dishwasher safe so you’ll have to do it manually. Wash the parts in cold, soapy water. Stains are a normal part of juicing. However, if the juicer becomes stained with some produce, such as carrots, then feel free to soak them in water with a small amount of bleach to remove the pesky stains. Take the stiff brush, which does not come with the purchase of the juicer, and scrub the pulp out of the mesh screen. Never submerge the cutter, as you do not water getting into the shaft hole. If water accidentally gets into it, then set it with the base facing down to allow it to completely dry. Everything must be dry before you put the parts back together.
This household juicer is not your standard slow juicer. In fact it’s not a slow juicer at all. Its RPM is too high to be classified as such. At 1,725 RPM it’s comparable to a centrifugal juicer. I believe champion juicers belong to a whole new classification of juice extractors—high-speed masticating juicers.
With that said, juice produced by this machine is subpar in comparison to real slow juicers.
What Kinds of Produce Can Champion G5-NG853S Juice?
This juice press can process almost anything from soft fruits to hard veggies, leafy greens (not that efficient), wheatgrass (with a separate attachment), and some nuts and beans.
Hard produce includes bitter gourd, pineapple, celery, yakon, pumpkin, beets, broccoli, sweet potato, cauliflower, ginger, pear, cucumber, pepper, cilantro, coconut, carrots, asparagus, garlic, apple, fennel, watermelon and turmeric.
Soft produce such as pomegranate, blackberry, cranberries, papaya, kiwifruit, tomato, grapes, mango, strawberry, peach, avocado and melon can be turned into a puree using the complimentary blank screen.
If it can process hard produce, citrus fruits such as grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, lime, orange and mandarin are no match for it.
Though it can process most of the leafy greens such as beet greens, spinach, collard greens, brussels sprout, romaine lettuce, kale, cabbage, dandelion greens, peppermint, basil, parsley, lettuce and spring onion, I’m going to warn you that this machine is not that efficient due to its high RPM.
Juicing wheatgrass and pine tree needles require a separate greens attachment.
You can also prepare soy and almond milk using this juicing machine.
With the right accessories this juicer can be turned into a grain mill, homogenizer and a stand-alone wheatgrass juicer, the bad news is you’ll have to buy these attachments separately.
The grain mill attachment allows you to make your own flour, corn meal, coffee at home. Equipped with razor-sharp blades it can pulverize soybeans, coffee beans, peppercorns, wheat, rye, oats, and barley into a fine or coarse grain (depending on your setting) with dust free efficiency.
Greens attachment complements the juicing power of Champion G5-NG-853S turning your machine into a stand-alone wheatgrass juicer. This juicer struggles on juicing green leafy vegetables because of its high RPM. With this attachment, I’m not sure if the efficiency will be the same with competing masticating juicers.
The homogenizer can help you prepare baby food, nut butter, creamed coconut and frozen treats such as ice cream or sorbets. The free blank screen will work but this attachment was specifically designed for homogenizing—that is if you’re planning to process huge amounts of nut butter and sherbets.

Champion 2000 Household Juicer is not your standard slow juicer as the RPM is comparable to the centrifugal type. This makes it a little difficult for the machine to process leafy greens based on some customer feedback. However, if green juice is not a part of your healthy regimen, feel free to grab this product on Amazon. It’s not that efficient for juicing leafy greens but it’s still a heavy duty and one of the most durable machines built for everyday juicers made not only for juicing but for grinding and homogenizing as well.
