There is something funny about this machine and I guess it’s how the chute is positioned like the Leaning Tower of Pisa. We can call Jack Lalanne Power Juicer Elite (JPEL) then, The Leaning Juicer. Maybe they really got the inspiration from that popular landmark.
Kidding aside, I guess what the team behind this centrifugal juice extractor is trying to do is to compensate for the weak motor. They thought that if the produce will have a slight angle, the blade will be more efficient in grating the produce. However it turned out to be problematic, one customer points out that the hole leading to the spout clogs easily. Another issue with the design is the pits can come out of the chute with significant force. To avoid personal injury never look down the chute or purchase their clever E-Z plug. It looks like a huge funnel with a plug.
Don’t waste your money on this juice maker, here are some good centrifugal juicers worth looking into.
- Fast juice extraction
- Approximately 3-inch feeding chute speeds up preparation time
- Dishwasher safe parts
- Since it just spins at 3,600 RPM, it’s not as loud as other high-speed juicers
- A low RPM is also the reason why it can juice soft fruits
- Low wattage, means low electricity bill
- The chute isn’t big enough to accommodate larger apples
- Quite expensive for a one-speed centrifugal juicer
- 24 hours juice shelf life
- Plastic parts are not BPA Free
- Bad design
- Not ideal for juicing leafy greens
- According to a number of customer reviews, this machine is prone to clogging and leaking
- Short warranty coverage
Power Juicer Elite Features & Product Details
Is it Easy to Use?
Assembly and disassembly can take under a minute once you get used to it. There are just a few points that you have to remember. The first one is how to attach the filter and the blade. To attach the filter, make sure that the hole and the screw peg are aligned. Once it’s in place give the blade a quick spin and gently tighten it using the crescent tool. Secondly, you’ll have to run the machine for 5-10 seconds to help the filter and blade assembly to balance and reach its optimum speed for juice extraction.
I cannot really say that this machine is easy to use as there are comments that it’s prone to clogging. If you think of it, you’ll have to constantly stop and unclog the spout with a toothpick and assemble the parts all over again. That is going to be time-consuming for sure.
Is it Easy to Clean?
All of the components except the motor base are dishwasher safe, and luckily a cleaning brush is included in your purchase. The brush makes it easier to get rid of the pulp that was stuck in the filter and the blade. You can use a damp cloth or sponge to clean the motor base. It is ideal to clean your juicer immediately after every use. If you wait for too long the pulp and residue from the juice might build up which is difficult to remove.
A juice processed by a centrifugal juice extractor just like Power Juicer Elite can only last for 24 hours, while juice extracted from slow juicers last for 72 hours. The reason behind it is oxidation. Rapid spinning motion inside the juicing chamber attracts the air outside and exposes the juice. This starts the breakdown of nutrients, making your juice less and less nutritious in the succeeding hours. The best way to enjoy the full nutritional benefit of the juice is to drink it right away or at least within 15 minutes.
What Kinds of Produce Can JPEL Juice?
This juicing machine will best perform on hard produce and citrus fruits (peeled).
Hard Produce such as beets, carrots, apple, asparagus, pear, pineapple, watermelon, bitter gourd, broccoli, cauliflower, celery, cilantro, cucumber, fennel bulb, garlic, ginger, pepper, pumpkin, sweet potato, and turmeric.
Citrus fruits such as grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, lime, orange, and mandarin.
Can it Juice Leafy Greens, Soft Fruits, and Nuts?
While there are techniques out there to process leafy greens on high-speed juicers, it’s not efficient and not as easy as cold press juicers. You are going to waste a lot of nutritional value trying to juice leafy greens out of this machine.
Soft fruits, on the other hand, will tend to spew out of the feeding chute and will cost you a lot of cleanup time. In addition, soft fruits will yield puree instead of juice.
Don’t even try making soy neither almond milk from this fast juicer; you’re going to risk damaging your equipment.

Jack Lalanne Power Juicer Elite doesn’t deserve an ‘elite’ status. It has a weak motor, poor design, and poor performance overall. You can find cheaper models that are worth your every penny.
