The SKG Q8 whole slow juicer is a cheaper version of the SKG A10. Though it doesn’t have a Red Dot design award under its belt, it’s undeniably a gorgeous juicing machine. But, is it more than just a pretty face? Let’s find out.
What makes the SKG wide chute system unique is its dual hopper system. It has a 3.15-inch flip over chute and a standard 1.75-inch inlet. It’s slowly becoming the norm among other whole slow juicers like the Breville Big Squeeze and Kuvings line of commercial slow juicing machines.
This trend is bringing masticating juicers closer to centrifugal juice extractor’s performance. A bigger chute can definitely save your time. You can skip slicing your apple, and it can accommodate larger portions of fruits and vegetables.
Slender carrots don’t need precutting as well. It can go straight to the smaller chute along with other longer items.
With that said, the SKG Q8 is a capable juice extractor. It can take on a wide variety of fruits and vegetables such as denser ones, leafy greens, and citruses. Yes, you can definitely make green juices with this baby.

Features & Product Details
Is it Easy to Use?
Honestly speaking, there’s a bit of a learning curve with this kind of juicing machine. The SKG Q8 is a dual chute masticating juicer. It belongs to a new breed of juice extractors. There’s certainly an advantage to having multiple chutes, but it will require your attention to detail.
For starters, the bigger inlet can take a whole apple, but I wouldn’t risk dropping any other whole item in this chute.

Apart from that, it operates like a standard vertical slow juicer.
Is it Easy to Clean?
This part is pretty much subjective. If you don’t enjoy washing your dishes by hand, then maintaining the SKG Q8 cold press juicer is going to be a chore. This machine is not dishwasher safe.
Approximately, it will take you 5 minutes to clean this electric juicer. Just pay close attention to the crevices in the top set and brush off the fibers stuck in the filter basket.
To lessen this burden, wash it right after every use.
It’s the second slowest whole slow juicer next to SKG A10, spinning at 45 RPM. High juice yield and high nutrient retention are the byproducts of this low RPM rate.
Lower speeds translate into minimal oxidation or the spoiling of your juice. You can store it for up to three days with most of the nutrients still intact.
What Kinds of Produce Can It Juice?
The SKG Q8 juicer has two hoppers, a 3.15-inch primary chute, and a 1.75-inch channel.
The large feeding chute would be ideal for a whole apple, sliced fibrous vegetables such as beets, yakon, sweet potato, pumpkin, ginger and as well as soft ones like pineapple, watermelon, and so on. Larger portions will do just fine.
It’s also the best place to drop your citruses such as oranges, lemons, lime, grapefruit, tangerine, etc. in this opening.
Bigger leafy greens like kale, collard and beet greens, lettuce, requires rough chopping, while the rest of your greens can go as is in this 8omm flip over chute.
The smaller hopper, on the other hand, is ideal for longer items like carrots, cucumbers, zucchini, radish, celery, and asparagus. Carrots and other items need to be cut lengthwise.
Please note, that it would still be advisable to remove the core, seeds, peel, rinds, and pits from your fruits and vegetables (whichever applies). It will protect the integrity of your juice press and at the same time, enhance the taste of your juice.
This particular electric juicer is not designed for making soy and almond milk and as well as for pureeing soft mushy fruits.

There is more than meets the eye with the SKG Q8 wide chute cold press juicer. It’s a beauty and at the same time a beast when it comes to performance.
Of course, there are some tradeoffs with this kind of juice extractor, but it’s worth the compromise. I wouldn’t mind washing it by hand and putting in extra effort when I know that I’ll get more juice and more nutrients out of my fruits and vegetables.
To wraps this up, I’m giving the SKG Q8 HeartyBlends’ seal of approval.
