Champion Elite 4000
Champion Elite 4000

Champion Elite 4000 shares the same powerful motor with the original Champion juice extractors, a 540 watt A/C motor that can peak at 1725 RPM. Now, that is pretty fast for a masticating juicer, it’s close to being a centrifugal juice extractor.

With that power, it can help you squeeze juice from all types of produce including hard fruits and vegetables, soft fruits, leafy greens. It can even process nuts for making soy milk and nut butter.

The bad news is the juice can be too frothy.

Champion Juicers are not sold at Amazon. You can either buy it directly at their website or you can also check it out at eBay.

The first thing that I noticed about this new machine is it’s smaller than the classic Champion Juicer.

Having a small footprint can be helpful if you have small counter space. Despite its small size, it’s surprisingly more durable. According to the manufacturer, the plastic that covers the motor is made of polycarbonate plastic and the hub was fortified with 4 slugs.

It’s literally 6 times stronger than the Model 2000.

Here’s what I don’t like.

This is by far the only horizontal masticating juicing machine that has two set of augers, one for grinding and one for greens. It’s not that simple though, you have to refer to their chart to see if you’re using the right set of an auger, insert and restrictor for a specific type of produce.

It will take a bit of learning curve to get used to it.

Unlike the legacy Champion juicers, you can’t attach a grain mill to it. If you like that feature, you won’t be able to turn grains in to powder with this one, but it can still perform same homogenizing functions.

It can still help you make fruit whip, nut butter, sauce, baby food, and coleslaw using the blank screen.

Champion Juicer 4000 is available in three colors–red, white and black. These are not painted and won’t peel off like the old models.

Pros

  • You can choose between three colors (see options above)
  • Smaller and lighter
  • Faster than you’re average masticating juicer
  • Higher juice yield than centrifugal electric juicer
  • It can extract juice from all types of produce including leafy greens
  • Dishwasher safe
  • Automatic pulp ejection for continuous juicing
  • Can also be your very own food processor

Cons

  • No mention if the plastic used is BPA free or not
  • High RPM makes the juice prone to oxidation
  • For a masticating juicer, this is a bit noisy but not as loud as centrifugal juicing machine
  • Requires some degree of a learning curve to get used to the auger, inserts, and restrictor
  • Chopping your produce will take much of your time because of the narrow feeding chute
  • Juice produced can be too frothy
  • There is a known issue, the body can crack, however you can leave it to their stellar support. If you happen to encounter this problem just send the juice maker back to them and you’ll get a replacement.

Champion Elite 4000 Features & Product Details

Is it easy to use?

As I mentioned above this particular single gear juicer has extra parts that you won’t find in other masticating juicers.

Let me break it down for you-deflector, o-ring (this prevents leakage inside the motor), greens auger (auger for leafy greens), grinding auger (auger for hard produce and soft fruits) and the three types of restrictor (this is where the pulp goes out).

Every time you’re using this machine you’ll have to remember which set will go together. The assembly varies depending on the produce you are juicing. No worries though, you can always refer to the recommended assembly table in the manual if ever you get confused.

In short, it’s slightly difficult to use at first.

Is it easy to clean?

The good thing is it’s dishwasher safe and there’s an included brush. The parts are just too small and easy to wash, a quick rinse is all it takes, then let your dishwasher do the rest.

To make it even easier wash your juicer immediately after every use. This will prevent build up of residue from the juice and the pulp.

Juice Quality

Juice produced by a high speed masticating juicer is quite compromised. At 1,725 revolutions per minute, the juice is exposed to a significant amount of oxygen.

You’ll notice that your juice will be a little too frothy. Traditional masticating juicers run at slow RPM, 110 being the fastest, thus minimizing exposure to air.

When the juice is exposed to air it initiates the process called oxidation. It breaks down the nutrient and minerals that are vulnerable to oxygen along with other natural factors such as light and heat.

What kinds of produce can Champion Elite 4000 juice?

This juice press can juice almost anything from soft fruits to hard veggies, leafy greens, wheatgrass. It can also process nuts and beans for making nut butter or nut milk.

Using the screen insert, grinding auger, and black restrictor you can juice hard produce such as bitter gourd, broccoli, garlic, turmeric, pineapple, pepper, coconut, beets, carrots, sweet potato, yakon, celery, pear, cilantro, apple, fennel, asparagus, cucumber, cauliflower, pumpkin, watermelon, and ginger.

Using the blank insert, grinding auger, and grey restrictor you can process soft fruits and veggies like grapes, blackberry, strawberry, melon, pomegranate, cranberries, papaya, mango, kiwifruit, peach, avocado and tomato for making a puree.

Citrus fruits include grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, lime, orange and mandarin can also be juiced using the same set of assembly as the hard produce

Using the greens auger, screen insert, and black restrictor you can juice leafy greens such as lettuce, collard greens, pine tree needles, beet greens, peppermint, kale, dandelion greens, wheatgrass, basil, parsley, cabbage, spinach, spring onion, moringa and brussels sprout with ease.

You can also prepare soy and almond milk with this machine.

Using it for Gerson Therapy

Using a Champion Juicer in tandem with Welle’s Press is a cheaper Gerson Therapy Juicer alternative.

So, if you’re planning to use this machine for that specific purpose, make sure that the blank cone is installed instead of the regular juicing screen.

Champion Juicer will only serve as a grinder. You won’t extract juice with it.

You’ll be needing a pressing bag to collect your grounded produce. After grinding, proceed to your Welle’s juice press. You can stack up to three nicely folded bag of grounded produce in it.

Then, you can begin applying pressure to extract the juice.

Is Champion Elite 4000 worth it?

While Champion Juicer 4000 is a powerful masticating juice extractor, it’s not your average slow juicer. It has a high RPM that is 20 times faster than all other masticating juicers.

If you don’t mind going through some extra steps and a bit of froth in your juice, perhaps Champion Juicer 4000 is a good match for you.
